The phenomenon frequently experienced in my life with people I love, strangers, and myself. It is interaction within the vacuum of it. A loud conversation where no one hears and no one speaks. Within it, experiencing such sadness, hurt, frustration, but also peace, creativity and freedom. A conversation like this leaves me free to use my voice loudly and confidently in my head without external input. Revolving around familial connection: impatience, encouragement, ego, love, and shared languages of silent intuition.

A piece that I desperately wanted to be made in a tangible conversation but finally came to life in a silent one. Inspired by radiator panels hanging in a tree, holding warmth and coldness, love and neglect, creativity and suffocation.

Conversations that continue after death. That continue after a loss of love that can feel like death. These pieces are alloyed from rings and jewelry of a 50-year marriage that ended in divorce, my grandparents. They are
re-alloyed with pieces imbued with love. The gold and silver from the emptiness of each ring is remelted and reconnected to the other in a reformed piece of wire, sometimes the shape of the other leaving scars and imprints. Stories of the never-ending pursuit of love, no matter the fears and unknowns.
